Health & Safety
Scottish Leather Group is committed to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all its employees. A policy is in place
and an annual Health and Safety report is published.
The prevention of injury and illness to workers and others affected
by work activities is fundamental to a fair and decent society. Accordingly, our aim is to have an extremely
safe working
environment with zero accidents.
The T-Card Hazard and Near Miss reporting system was introduced following an employee initiative, suggested at a
company Health & Safety Committee Meeting. The benefits of the
system include being readily accessible to all
employees and visitors, standardising the Hazard and Near Miss reporting and actions whilst at the same time being
extremely
visible and showing the status of the actions.
We also have various programmes monitoring health & safety across the Group including:

Health
- Audiometry.
- Lung function testing.
- Hand/arm vibration screening.
- Skin checks (for control of substances hazardous to health).
- Biological monitoring.

Safety
- Safety culture measurement.
- Identification of hazards and those at risk.
- Risk assessment.
- Identification and implementation of risk control measures.

Welfare
- The provision of appropriate facility services for the working environment.
- The provision of maintenance for equipment and devices which could cause risk to health, safety or welfare if a fault occurred.
