About Garston Leather

Garston Sky Shot

Based in Liverpool, Garston Leather Limited is one of the largest producers of wet blue in the United Kingdom with a capacity of approximately 12,000 hides per week.

In August 1998, Garston became a wholly owned subsidiary of Scottish Tanning Industries Limited, the country's largest group of tanners serving a host of industries around the world. Now a key member of the group, Garston is large enough to meet the demands of major users, yet flexible enough to meet the needs of niche producers and manufacturers.

Over the past two years, and as part of a continuing redevelopment and expansion programme, Garston has made major investments in new plant and machinery, including the commissioning of a new state- of-the-art effluent treatment plant and other tanning equipment, designed to keep the company at the forefront of European and international wet blue producers.

The company has been able to combine the acknowledged Garston leather tradition with its corporate commitment to consistent quality and personal service in harmony with protecting and enhancing the environment.

The company produces wet blue bovine hides, both lime split and full substance, for the automotive, furniture, shoe and fancy leather goods industries and is also able to offer lime split butts in the brined and wet blue chrome state.

In partnership with its customers, Garston offers customised tannages, modified to suit individual market requirements, designed to maximise efficiencies for the benefit of all.
